Roy is a musician, singer and songwriter from Edinburgh.

With an ancestry which includes actors, street performers, fairground entertainers and singers, it’s little wonder that the need to create and stand in the spotlight has been a central driving force in his life, regardless of where life has taken him or the wrong turnings along the way which have made the journey a little longer but definitely more interesting.

Roy has performed extensively throughout Scotland, as well as in England and the USA in every conceivable type and size of venue, been much in demand as a session guitarist and singer and his voice and guitar were regularly heard on TV/Radio commercials in the 1990’s.

At the heart of everything though is the prolific song writing talent and emotion-packed live performances which have a kind of raw power and intensity that his “singer/songwriter” peers can only dream about.

In 2007, (and after many years of being asked, “Where can I buy your music?”), Roy released his first album “Confessional”. So many of the songs on it were live favourites that some people described it as “More like a greatest hits album”.

2008 was his busiest ever for live gigs and he recorded an astonishing 50 songs during that year, 14 of which found their way on to the follow-up album, “The Theory Of The Road”.

By 2009, songs from both albums had been played on radio across Scotland as well as in podcasts from around the globe. This has led to prestigious support slots with American acoustic legend Steve Forbert and fellow Scot, and former Men at Work front man Colin Hay.

Roy's third album, “Nobody’s Fool”, was released in the summer of 2010, with its thirteen tracks chosen from almost forty possibles.

His latest release, “The Last Bus Home” was released in November 2011 to coincide with a return to The Queens Hall as special guest of the Strawbs. In addition to promoting his own music, Roy regularly performs with his brother Richie and also lends support to raising awareness of mental health issues and autism.
